April 29, 2012 - Bill McCauley (right) landed this 13.3-pound largemouth at Lake Perris fishing with his son R.J. McCauley (left) who also landed bass at 10.4 and 10.1 pounds. The Riverside anglers were fishing plastic worms and had a total of 14 bass between them, including personal bests for both of them.

April 22, 2012 - Dan Hoover of Hemet caught this 18.80-pound largemouth fishing a Chug Bug at Lake Perris. The fish is a new lake record and the largest bass caught in Southern California this year. It was also Hoover's 42nd bass over 10 pounds from Perris. The fish was tagged and released.

April 22, 2012 - Chip Gilbert of San Marcos caught this new Lake Skinner record largemouth bass fishing a Black Dog Shell Cracker crankbait. The brute weighed 14 1/2 pounds and he also landed a 10-pound bass on the same day.

March 29, 2012 - Gary Wuebben of Castaic landed this 40-pound striped bass from the California Aqueduct near Taft fishing a home-made lipless crankbait. He also landed stripers at 16 and 18 pounds in March.

March 20, 2012 - Richard “Jay” Blaylock, Julian, caught this 6 ½-pound largemouth in the south end of Lake Cuyamaca fishing a Huddleston swimbait.

March 16, 2012 - Mike Holden, Encinitas, landed this 9 ½-pound rainbow fishing a gold Kastmaster off the Senior Shoreline at Lake Wohlford.

March 14, 2012 - Andrew Nooris, Chandler, Ariz., caught this nice three-pound smallmouth fishing in the Topoc Gorge section of the Colorado River while fishing with Capt. Doyle’s Fun Fishing guide service (928-768-2667).

March 2, 2012 - Richard Skilliter of Anaheim landed this 56.8-pound lake record blue catfish at Diamond Valley Lake fishing with shrimp on just eight-pound test line. The previous record was 52.81 pounds caught in 2008.

February 19, 2012 - Travis Nebel of Norco landed these largemouth bass at 11.8 and 6.9 pounds fishing the Colorado River from McIntyre Park in Blythe.

February 25, 2012 - Gary Smith of Compton with a 25.9-pound catfish taken on nightcrawlers at Lower Otay Reservoir. The fish topped off a 93.8-pound stringer of cats.

February 20, 2012 - Tammy Finch from Apple Valley caught this 3.87 pound smallmouth bass at Lake Havasu with the help from her self- proclaimed "world's greatest fishing guide" husband,  Bill Finch.

February 1, 2012- This 5.4-pound tilapia, a potential line-class world record, was caught by David Ayala, Fullerton, in a Colorado River canal near Blythe. The fish is just under the state record of six pounds.
